7 years ago my daughter was diagnosed with a dairy allergy when as a baby, she was given her first bottle of cow’s milk formula and within minutes blew up like a huge raspberry, her body was covered in hives and she was scratching furiously. After a referral to an allergy clinic and subsequent tests, she was then diagnosed with an allergy to dairy, egg, tree nuts and fish. When my second daughter was born in 2014, I knew with the benefit of experience within 6 months that she too had a dairy and egg allergy.

Since then my daughters have also picked up a chicken allergy(yes really!), and my eldest has Oral Allergy Syndrome so reacts to fruit like kiwi, cherries, peaches, apricots, apple, pear and pineapple. They both had severe eczema while they were very young babies which improved hugely once they were dairy free, and is now thankfully under control albeit with occasional flare ups.

I’ve started this blog to share my experiences of being a mum to allergic children and hopefully help others in leading a normal life with allergies. I’m also a big foodie and have adapted my cooking to be allergy safe so will be sharing some recipes too!
